BOARD MEETING MINUTES
October 17, 2003

Meeting called to order at 7:05 P.M.
Quorum not met
Board Members present Don, Richard. Patty & 3 Guest.
Member Mike arrives. Meeting is started (7:15)

Agenda: Minutes from September 19th meeting read. Motioned by Richard, 2nd by Mike and approved.

Treasures Report - None

Committee Reports

Programs:
Don volunteered to chair the program committee. We could use more help from members.

Communication:
Nina is phone chair and answering messages daily, there were comments that people were making second calls because messages were not answered. This should now be resolved. We could use a back up person for phones.
Richard is working the Web site but could use assistance.

Membership: We have 96 paid members, and additional people are joining
Facilities: Beth expressed an interest in being involved. Sue also stated she can help out.
Old Business: Symphony Ball- Tickets are available in the cash box $40.00 per person. We still need volunteers

Annual Meeting - Notices need to be sent out to all members via mail of meeting and election of board members.

Bylaw changes have been approved by the board and will be sent out to the members to be voted on.

New Vocal reinforcement- Headset and adapters are great Bose can now be plugged in and used for classes or practice.

New Business:

Wade and Tanya Godfred will teach Monday classes for the next session
Need to offer Social Ease 1
This next session is only 4 weeks
Patty mentioned article in paper about a possible instructor and we should contact to see if she would be interested in teaching phone is 456-6206 name Maia Jones, Don will contact.
Wednesday classes should be okay since Angel Ivette and LB would like to continue we have 36 students in the 1st class and 40+ in the second session.

Instructors fee came up, after discussion it was decided fees are okay.

Luke and Elyse proposed we sponsor Argentine Tango practice lessons on Sundays from 5 to 6 P.M. they will be responsible for all fees. They will be responsible for the building during this time and be responsible for cancellation. This will be reviewed at the end of this next dance session period to determine if this should be continued or end session. Motioned to approve by Don, Richard 2nd and approved by board

January dance session. 3 - six week sessions we need to line up instructors. We have several people as possibilities.

Patty proposed that we increase the Friday dance snacks allowance from $20.00 to $40.00 Richard moved to approve, Don 2nd approved.

Patty moved to adjourn the meeting, Don 2nd meeting adjourned at 8:15
